The most famous city in Spain is it's capital Madrid but there are many more ancient, modern and cosmopolitan cities to explore. Along the palm fringed beaches of the Costas are hot favourites such as Barcelona, Valancia and Marbella on the Costa del Sol whilst inland, there are the stunning cities of Seville and Granada to name a few.
Away from mainland Spain, there are some facinating cities to explore around the islands...
- Ibiza Town - the capital city of Ibiza
- Palam de Mallorca
- Santa Cruz - Tenerifes capital city
- Arrecife - the maritime and historic capital of Lanzarote
The advantage of renting a villa or holiday home in one of these ancient cities is that you can combine a city break with a beach holiday.

When To Visit
The weather across Spain varies considerably given the country spans nearly 2000kms from north to south. You can experience the harsh winter temperatures of the Spanish Pyrenees in the winter to the sub-tropical year round climate of Marbella in the south.
Basically, Spain is a year round destination although certain months of the year are better than others depending on the city. During the summer, the temperatures soar in to the mid 40s inland and many people who live in Seville or Madrid will prefer to book a Spanish holiday rental on the cooler coastal areas. In Almeria and the Costa del Sol, Spring and Autumn are the best months - less tourists and cooler. However, visting the northern cities on the Atlantic side such as San Sebastian, Ovied and the rest of Galicia, the months of July and August are the best - warmer and drier!
