On the tropical coasts, Lanzarote has many beach resorts and to the north, there are many smaller islands to be explored including La Graciosa, Alegranza, Montaña Clara, Roque del Este and Roque del Oeste.
With an average temperature of 21 º C that rises to the high 20s during the peak summer months, Lanzarote is an all year round destination.

No visit to Lanzarote would be complete without visiting the Timanfaya National Park. This is a Unesco protected area and home to the Montañas de Fuego or Timanfaya volcanoes - the only ones left that are active in the Canary Islands. You can take one of the camel tours around the National Park which is an experience you won't forget.
The temperature of the ground just 13m below the surface is an incredible 600 ºC! The El Diablo Restaurant in the park has a BBQ with a difference - it uses geothermal heat and a cast iron grill placed over a hole in the ground to cook the local speciality dishes of chicken and rabbit.
There are many tours of the park by coach that take you through the amazing lunar landscape - but note that you are not allowed off the coaches to wander around by yourself.
