Ski areas around the Kitzbühel Alps
The skiing in the resorts around the Kitzbühel Alps is suitable for all levels of skier and snowboarder with over 900kms of piste. The three main ski areas are:
There are a few other smaller ski areas within the Kitzbühel Alps that are covered with a single lift pass. St. Johann in Tyrol which links to Oberndorf is a family friendly ski areas with 10 ski lifts and 40 kilometres of pistes. Kirchdorf is another small ski area with a fantastic beginners area that includes a T-bar lift, rope lift and magic carpet and is perfect for beginners.

Beginners
For the complete beginner, there are some excellent nursery slopes around the Kitzbühel Alps especially in the Pillersee Valley and in Kirchberg.
Intermediate
Most of the terrain throughout the SKitzbühel Alps are geared towards intermediates with long open pistes that are great for carving. The slopes around Saalbach and the Kitzski are very popuar as there are many long cruising red psites that are perfect for intermediate skiers and snowboarders.
Advanced
For the advanced skier there is nothing better and more challenging than skiing the famous downhill race course, the Hahnenkamm, in Kitzbühel. However, there are plenty more black pistes and challenging off-piste terrain all around the Kitzbühel Alps - see the ski area map for more details as to where to ski.
Snowboarding
There is plenty for snowboarders in each of the resorts in the Kitzbühel Alps including many snowboard fun parks with table-top and quarter-pipes.
Cross-country
In total there is about 450 km of cross-country skiing tracks from beginner to expert in the Kitzbühel Alps especially around the valley floors such as in St. Johann and St. Ulrich am Pillersee.
