Ski area

Mayrhofen-Hippach in Tirol has 159 km of local pistes all of which are covered by artificial snow machines to guarantee snow cover. There are 2 main ski areas in Maryhofen - the Ahorn and Penken.

Ahorn Mountain

The Ahorn is called the Leisure Mountain and thats because its exactly that. Fantastic views, wide slopes, a Panorama Trail and the igloo hotel White Lounge. It is also the perfect location for beginners and children to try their first turns on skiers or snowboards.

Penken Mountain

The Penken ski region is the opposite - an action mountain. It is linked with the Finkenberg, Rastkogel and Eggalm resorts giving some of the largest and most varied ski terrain in Austria. At the end of the day, chill out at the White Lounge in one of the deck chairs, enjoy a drink and listen to relaxed lounge music - the perfect finish to a great days skiing.

The Ahorn mountain is considered the more easy-going and is great for beginners with its gentle slopes.

Mayrhofen providers the intermediaate skier with lots of varied terrain mostly on the Penken mountain but also at Ziller (bus) and on the Hintertx glacier (bus).

For expert skiers, try the Harakiri black - the steepest in Austria with a maximum gradient of 78 degrees!!!. There are plenty of varied challenging runs.
