How to get to Fernie

By plane

Fernie Alpine Resort is located in south-eastern British Columbia, in Western Canada. The main international airport servicing the region is the Canadian Rockies International Airport in Cranbrook with airport transfers taking just over an hour.

The other main Canadian airport is Calgary International with airport transfers to Fernie taking around 3 hours.

Coming from the United States, Glacier Park International Airport at Kalispell is 186km away from Fernie taking just over 2 hours by car.

By car

Located on Highway 3, known as the “Powder Highway”, Fernie is in the heart of the Elk Valley, in the spectacular Lizard Range of British Columbia’s Rocky Mountains. Fernie Alpine Resort is also just a 2-hour drive from Kalispell, Montana and a 4-hour drive to Spokane, Washington.

By train

Unfortunately, there are no train services to Fernie so other than hiring a car or booking an airport transfer, the next best way to get to Fernie is by bus.
