Whilst the main ski resort in the Vosges mountains is La Bresse, Gerardmer is also very popular although not as large as La Besse in terms of the ski area and number of psites. Some other nearby ski resorts in Vosges include:
- Le Gaschney
- Le Schnepfenried
- Le Markstein, and
- Le Grand Valtin
The mountain restaurants are some of the best around and are not expensive compared to some of the better known ski resorts in the French Alps where you go once and take a pack lunch for the rest of the week. On the slopes of La Bresse-Hohneck, you can have a superb lunch without worrying about going bankrupt!
