Day Trips

Megève, due to its location, is a gateway for sight seeing in the nearby villages of St.Gervais and 20kms further on, is Chamonix where you can ride up the Aguille du Midi cable car to the dizzy height of 3842m. Some of our other favourites include...

Chamonix

Take the Aguille du Midi cable car up to 3842m and enjoy the amazing 360° view of all the French, Swiss and Italian Alps. Plus there is the new 2.50m glass cage where you stand with nothing but 1000m of air below your feet! You can also take the Helbronner gondola across the Glacier du Géant to Italy and down the other side of Mont Blanc in to the charming resort of Courmayeur - a great day out.

Lake Annecy

Just an hours drive is the beautiful Lake Annecy with its historic old town and waterways - a mini Venice with waterside cafes and restaurants and fantastic shopping! You can also hire a small boat and explore the lake or go on one of the organised tours.

Montreux castle

From Megeve, it will takes around 90 minutes to get to get to the trendy and very pretty lakeside town of Montreux. You can explore the historic castle, take a boat trip around the lake or simply wander around the old town and relax at one of the many elegant cafes and restaurants. In July, there is also the world famous Jazz festival.
