How to get to Valloire

The closest airport to Valloire is Chambery with transfers taking around 90 minutes to cover the 112kms.

The other major airports that service the region are Geneva, Grenoble, Lyon and Turin. Airport transfers can be booked in advance or alternatively, hiring a car is a good option especially if you are planning on doing some skiing in the Three Valleys 40 minutes drive from Valloire.

Transfers By car

Whichever direction you are driving from, you will need to get on the motorway A43 and exit at St Michel de Maurienne which is 17 kms from Valloire. Take the D 902 which is a long winding road up to the Col du Télégraphe, one of the most gruelling classic climbs of the Tour de France. When snow is forecast, the local gendarmerie make camp at the base of the mountain and check that every car has snow chains and winter tyres - without these, you will not be allowed up.

By train

The nearest station is St Michel-Valloire just 17kms from the resort and serviced by the fast trains from Paris which take just 4 hours 30 minutes. From the station, there are regular buses to Valloire or you can take a taxi.
