Overview
Lake Achensee is the largest in Tirol with 3 fantastic family friendly ski resorts rising to 1870m giving panoramic views of the lake and surrounding peaks. The region around Lake Achensee is ideal for beginners and families.
The Rofan ski resort has slopes up to 1840m above sea level and can be easily reached using the cable car leaving from Maurach. This skiing area on the Gschöllkopf mountain offers pistes catering for all abilities, with some excellent ski touring options near the top of the resort.
The Christlum resort north of Lake Achensee has blue, red and black slopes up to 1800m. Located in the Karwendel Mountains, it has its own funpark and a long valley descent with wonderful views of the lake below.
The third ski resort is called Zwölferkopf just above the pretty village of Pertisau. It is ideal for family ski holidays and for beginners, there is large ski area with plenty of gentle slopes next to the lifts at the bottom of the resort.

Apres-ski
For apres-ski, each of the villages around Lake Achensee provide relaxed evening entertainment. There are several bars and many restaurants to choose from. What you won't find here are nightclubs!
Children
All ski-passes are free for children under 4 across the entire skiing area, and thanks to many beginner slopes, the whole family can learn to ski together. For the younger children, there are also many kindergartens and ski schools who provide dedicated ski lessons for young children and teens.
