Lake Bohinj sits in the Bohinj valley that stretches from Soteska to Ukanc. The southern end of the lake is surrounded by the Lower Bohinj Mountains that rise up to 2000m whilst the northern end touches the base of the Triglav mountain range with Mount Triglav, Slovenia`s highest, towering up to 2864m.

Lake Bohinj is another one of Slovenia's tourist magnets and the attraction is obvious when you visit - pleasant summers, lakeside beaches, hot springs, high mountains and breathtaking scenery in every direction. Plus during the winter, you have the local ski resorts of Kobla and Vogel to explore.

In the peak months of July and August, the average temperature is a pleasant 19°C although it can climb to the mid twenties. At this time of year, the Triglav National Park is most accessible and perfect for exploring its rich natural wonders. The park is vast covering 4% of Slovenia and most of the Julian Alps.
