Alpine Meadows piste & trail map Skiing & snowboarding around Alpine Meadows, Lake Tahoe
One look at the trail map will tell you that Alpine Meadows has a lot to offer both beginners through to experts.
The main issue is the scale of the skiing area and even with your piste map, its difficult to comprehend just how large it is - some 6000 acres spread over 2 local peaks and a further 6 over at its sister resort Squaw Valley just 6.7 miles away.
With terrain for all abilities, the ski areas of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows have plenty of family friendly runs, intermediate slopes, wide-open glade skiing, and a whole lot of excitement for those looking for the steep and deep, with chutes and gullies coming off the top of the mountain ridges and in to the back bowls.
There are 270 trails spread across both resorts roughly split in to...
- 25% - Beginners
- 45% - Intermediates
- 30% - Advanced
To get the most out of the area and experience the best on and off-piste trails, booking a mountain guide for a ski tour is a good option. These ski tours are open to intermediate and advanced skiers and riders ages 13+.
