Avoriaz ski touring with a mountain guide
For good intermediates and experts, the guided off-piste tours are are not to be missed offering spectacular glacial views and deep powder. To experience the full extent of what Avoriaz and the Portes du Soleil ski area has to offer, book a guided ski tour with one of the expert local guides from a ski school or private instructor who will navigate you around the high mountain trails around the massif of Grandes Rousses in safety taking you on an unforgettable adventure. Avoriaz 1800 has 3 trails set aside entirely for ski touring skiers. Starting at Place Jean Vuarnet or the bottom of the Prodains Express cable car, follow the specific signposts.
Les Jordières ski touring itinerary
This is a lovely ski tour of 3.2km in length and suited to intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The ski tour starts at the top of the Prodains cable car and from there, you mainly ski off-piste through the forest which is ideal when the visibility is not great and pass near the alpine chalets of Crôt.
Le Vannée ski touring route
This is an easy 4km ski tour with 350m of elevation. The ski tour starts from the village of Lindarets accessed from Avoriaz by the The Lindarets chairlift. From the top of the Lindarets Ridge via the Brochaux chairlift, you will discover a pleasant off-piste route, mainly through the forest. The panoramic view at the summit over the Chablais mountains is spectacular especially when the sun starts to go down.
