Skiing around the pistes and forest trails of the Cirque du Lys area of Cauterets is mainly geared towards beginners and intermediate skiers and boarders with long cruising green and blue trails.
One look at the Cauterets piste map shows just 2 black pistes so on the face of it, there is not much to challenge expert skiers. However, the ski area provides some excellent back-country off piste skiing where you can explore pristine natural beauty on guided 1 to 6 day ski tours using skins and staying overnight in mountain refuges.

Back-country ski tours
