Resort review

Deer Valley ski resort sits in a natural sun trap at 2003m just 2 miles from down town Park City and is only a 30 minutes drive from Salt Lake International Airport.

The ski resort is situated along the Wasatch Range and is home to great powder, groomers, steeps and moguls. With a 3,000-foot vertical drop and more than 2,000 acres of skiable terrain, skiers of all ages and abilities are sure to find the perfect slope.

Après-ski

Family friendly and known for its service, Deer Valley has restaurants to suit every palate. From cafés and grills to elegant and upscale rustic restaurants, there is something for all budgets and tastes. The mountain bars are a popular place to hang out at the end of the day and off the slopes, the EBS Lounge is very popular serving beers, cocktails and apres-ski snacks.

The Deer Valley ski area offers 101 groomed trails in 2026 acres of pristine natural beauty spread across 6 mountains....

The trails cater for all abilities although the bias is towards intermediate skiers with 68 of the trails graded as blue or red.

The resort has the lowest average annual snowfall of the Utah ski resorts, although has an annual average of 300 inches. If snow conditions are not great, you can always take a day trip to one of the other ski resorts close by including....

Beginners

For first time skiers, lessons are initially at the base station before moving on to the Wide West run near the Snow Park base. From here, there are well connected green and blues trails.

Intermediate

The Deer Valley ski area is a mecca for intermediates with blues and easy red trails everywhere. There are some more difficult blue runs such as Big Stick on Bald Eagle Mountain but these can easily be avoided.

Advanced

Bald Mountain and Flagstaff Mountain are the main areas where advanced skiers head to. There are steep mogul fields, cliffs and great off-piste in the glades.

Cross country

There are over 75kms of groomed trails in Park City and the surrounding mountains. Basin Recreation and Round Valley each offer 25kms of free trails whilst the White Pine Nordic Center charges to use its own 25kms.

Families & kid's clubs

The Deer Valley Children's Center is a state-licensed facility providing supervision and activities for non-skiing children ages 2 months to 12 years. Activities include storytelling, art projects and a lot of play time with the children split into different groups depending their age. Located on the main level of Snow Park Lodge, the center is open daily during the ski season from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Skiing in Deer Valley is a great place for families with uncrowded pistes with fantastic views of the surrounding peaks and the valley. For more advanced skiers and boarders, the ski area is waiting to be explored with more than 200km of trails and great off-piste terrain.

If you like Deer Valley ski resort, you may also want to look at Crested Butte and Big Sky in Montana where there is usually very good early and late season skiing.
