By plane

Grindelwald is fortunate to have several international airports relatively close by with the nearest one being Bern at just 70km. Airport transfers from Bern take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes or you can get transfers from Basel, Zurich or Geneva all taking between 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

By car

Travelling by car is fairly straightforward as it is motorway practically all the way no matter which direction you are coming from. As a first step, head to Interlaken and then Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen are sign-posted from there.

Remember to make sure your car shows the road tax sticker. This costs CHF40 and can be bought at the border controls, petrol stations and post offices.

By train

Transfers to Grindelwald by train takes just 2 ½ hours from Geneva, Basel and Zurich and 1 ½ hours from Bern.
