Le Biot ski resort guide Ski area, apres-Ski, things to see & do in Le Biot
Resort reviews
Le Biot is a charming alpine village unspoilt by tourism with the beautiful Dranse river flowing through the centre. Sitting in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, Le Biot provides easy access to over 650km of pistes connecting 12 resorts across the French and Swiss borders.
Après-ski
The apres-ski scene is informal, relaxed and fun although it wont set your world on fire if you are looking for a vibrant party scene with nightclubs, the closest one is in nearby Morzine where there is also a very good selection of bars and restaurants.
Spa & wellbeing
There is a Wellness centre in the Remise en Forme clinic in St Jean d'Aulps that offers massage treatments and spa facilities.

Le Biot ski area guide
The local ski-pass "Roc d'Enfer" allows you to ski in both resorts of Saint Jean d'Aulps and La Chèvrerie but its also possible to purchase the Portes du Soleil pass. Access to the Portes du Soleil is via a free shuttle bus to the nearby resort of Morzine (10 mins away). With 200 lifts and over 650 km of ski slopes, this is one of the largest international ski areas in the world.
Skiing in the Portes du Soleil system means you can ski all day and never touch the same piste twice from the rabbit runs in the Lindarets forest to the long cruising blues and reds in Morzine. The entire area provides a great mix of piste for all levels of skier and for families wanting to ski together, there is a network of inter-connecting blues and reds serviced by the same lifts.
Beginners
With 140 green and blue slopes across the Portes du Soleil, there is no shortage of beginner slopes. In Saint Jean d'Aulps, the beginner area is at the top of the main cable car from the resort centre. Perhaps one of the best beginner areas is France is the Super-Morzine.
Intermediate
Saint Jean d'Aulps is heaven for the intermediate skier with almost too much to choose from. You can ski clockwise or anti-clockwise around the Portes du Soleil taking in resorts such as Les Gets, Chatel, Morzine and Avoriaz.
Advanced
Some very challenging runs can be found with 25 very long black slopes including the famous "Wall" with moguls as high as an adult! There is also a black snowcross. Its upper part offers wonderful panoramic views and its lower part is made of slopes that run in the middle of the forest.
Snow boarding
Whatever your level, there is something for everyone to enjoy and the facilities throughout the Portes du Soleil include 10 terrain parks.
