If you are flying in to Reno, getting to the northern shores of Lake Tahoe by car is straightforward...

• Take Interstate 80 West toward Sacramento
• Take the CA-89/CA-267 exit toward Sierraville/Lake Tahoe
• Turn left onto CA-Hwy 267 and continue for 5.5 miles to Northstar

By bus

If you are not hiring a car, booking an airport transfer to Northstar mountain village is a good option and from Reno International, it takes around 40 - 45 minutes to cover the 40 mile drive. Ski shuttles also operates from the Bay Area in San Francisco, Sacramento, South Lake Tahoe and the towns around the lake including Truckee, Dollar Point and Kings Beach which are where many people choose to stay.
