Things to see and do
- Take the funicular railway from Cassarate up to Monte Brè (925m) above Lugano for some spectacular views of lake Lugano, Como and Maggiore
- Luino on Lake Maggiore is just 20k drive - a bustling resort with lots of shops, bars and restaurants
- Visit the beautiful resort of Bellagio on Lake Como (16km) with it's lakeside cafes, restaurants and designer boutiques
