By plane

The nearest airport to Saariselkä is Ivalo just 27kms north of Saariselkä. The airport is serviced by Finnair and there are dailoy flights from Helsinki. At the airport, you can take a bus, hire a car or book a taxi to take you to the resort. Alternatively, you can fly in to Rovaniemi and arrange a scheduled airport transfer,

By car

If your journey starts in Helsinki, it's a 1066km drive to Saariselkä and is a holiday in itself if you take your time and stop over on route. The scenery is spectacular passing countless lakes and fells.

By train

The nearest train station is at Rovaniemi and from there you can catch a transfer bus to the ski resort. Its 260kms to Saariselkä and the journey takes around 3 hours.
