Le Monal via Le Clou
This is a 7.75km ski tour and perfect as an introduction to back-country ski touring as the trails are fairly gentle with some lengthy falt sections so not great for snowboarders. The tour starts from the top of the Aiguille chair where you descend into the wide open south-facing bowl. On the gentle ride down, you will pass a small alpine lake and hamlet called Le Clou. The scenery is amazing and towards the end of the tour, you will ski through pine forests all the way back to Sainte Foy.
Foglietta West Face
An extremely challenging back-country tour. After skinning for 30 minutes up to the summit of Foglietta where you get spectacular views of Sainte Foy, you access the west face. This is a venue for a Freeride World Qualifying event, which means you will encounter steep couloirs, blind rollovers, jumps over cliffs - you need to be an expert skier and this route should only be taken with an experienced guide with good snow conditions.
