How to get to Santa Caterina

Airport transfers from Milan, Bergamo & Innsbruck airports to Santa Caterina

Getting to Santa Caterina is relatively easy if you are coming by plane, train or car. However, the airport transfer times are not that short and during the height of the ski holidays season, try and avoid arriving on the Saturday change over day as the road up to Santa Caterina tends to get fairly busy.

By plane

Transfers to Santa Caterina take approximately 3 hours from Milan Malpensa and 4 hours from Venice airport. Alternative airport transfers from Innsbruck to Santa Caterina take roughly between 2 1/2 and 3 hours.

By car

One of the most scenic routes in to Santa Caterina is via The Stelvio Pass which is the second highest mountain pass in Europe at 2757m.

In winter the Stelvio pass is closed and access to Santa Caterina is only via Tirano or from Switzerland via Livigno. From Livigno there is a tunnel which is only open from 8am to 8pm or 10pm on Saturdays so take this in to account when planning your journey to and from Santa Caterina.

By train

The nearest stations are St. Moritz and Tirano (Bernina Hospice in summer).
