Champoluc to Zermatt ski tour
This ski tour is not for the faint-hearted! Starting at Champoluc, you head to the Pastore Mountain Refuge at 1575m above Alagna Valsesia where you spend the night. The next day, you cross the Turlo Pass at 2738m before arriving at Macugnaga for an overnight stay. The next morning, it's the cable car up to Monte Moro and from there you ski down to Saas-Almagell. A sort transfer to Saas Fee then it's the cable car up to the Britannia Hütte at 3030m. The next morning, you cross the Allalin Pass at 3,564m before the descent to Tash. At Tash, you catch the train up to Zermatt then take the cable car to Klein Matterhorn 3883m then ski down to the Guide del Cervino Mountain Refuge at 3,480m situated on the Plateau Rosà. On day 5, you make your way back to Champoluc via the Breithorn at 4165m - not to be missed!
Monte Rosa ski tour - 'Spaghetti Tour'
This can be a 2 or 5 day ski tour. The 2-day tour starts in Cervinia which is just a short drive from Gressoney. Once in Cervinia, you take the cable car up to Plateau Rosa then skin up and ski down the Breithorn, at over 4000m. Back at Plateau Rosa, you spend the night in the Guide del Cervino hut. Day 2 is an early start where you skin up to the summit of Pollux or Castor, again over 4000m, giving spectacular views of the Monte Rosa range with its cragged peaks. Then it's all the way back down to Cervinia - simply superb!
