The ski tour starts at the top of the Dome de Lauze above La Grave where there is a 2600m descent down the south side to the Glacier de la Selle. It's then time to skin up to the Breche du Rateau which involves an ice pick and crampons to get over the col followed by another wonderful 2600m trail into the Chatelleret Valley. A short climb takes you up to the Refuge du Promontoire perched on the side of La Meije.

On day 2, the ski tour takes you on a rollercoaster journey - climbing to the Breche du la Meije, more long descents and through the Passage du Serret du Savon and onto the Refuge du L’Aigle.
