Myrkdalen caters for all levels of skier and boarder from family-friendly slopes, terrain parks, cross-country to some excellent off-piste terrain. The ski resort has a total of 9 lifts: 2 six-seater express lifts, 3 t-bar lifts, 3 disc lifts and a magic carpet for the youngest skiers.
With a total of 22 snow sure pistes with stacks of terrain between the uncrowded slopes, Myrkdalen has the largest ski on the western side of Norway.
Ski Touring
To get off the beaten track, ski touring the back country is the answer in pristine natural beauty. Finnbunuten moutian tops out at 1358m and you access the top via the Kari Traa lift and use skins to the top. On a clear day you can see the glaciers of Hardangerjøkulen, Jostedalsbreen and Folgefonna.
Across the valley is Bjørndalskamben standing at 1402m which is the highest mountain in Myrkdalen and is another area for some excellent ski tours.
