The local skiing in Niederau gives you plenty of gentle beginner areas and blue pistes. The 8 seater gonndola from the town center takes you up to Markbachjoch at 1,500m which is next area to try after the nursery slopes.

The whole local ski area is geared towards intermediate skiers and if you like touring, head to Auffach where you can ski over to Alpbach.

For the advanced skier, the local ski area is quite limited although the Hochberg or the Stöck and Sixtwiese ski routes through the woods are challenging.Auffach is just a 15 minutes away via the free ski bus which opens up some great off-piste areas linking in to Alpbach and is the starting point for several ski tours.

For snowboarders, there are 3 terrain parks across the Ski Juwel area featuring rainbow boxes, moguls hills, easy kickers, straight boxes and more.
