How to get to Snowbasin
By plane & Airport Transfers
The closest international airport is Salt Lake City International with over 840 scheduled daily flights serving more than 90 cities with non-stop flights to Paris and Tokyo. Driving from the airport to the resort takes around 1 hours to cover the 80km.
However, most of the lodgings are in the Ogden Valley either in downtown Ogden or in the neighbouring towns of Huntsville and Eden where transfers take approximately 50 minutes. From Huntsville, it only takes 15 minutes to get to Snowbasin.
There are several airport transfer companies that will take you up to Ogden Valley and Snowbasin.
By train
You can catch the Frontrunner train from downtown Salt Lake City to Ogden. If you are planning on skiing for the day and then returning to Salt Lake City that evening, Snowbasin lay on a shuttle bus up to the resort for a small charge - pick-up is at 8.30am and 9.30am with a return to the station at 4.30pm.
Going by train is an ok option for a day trip but for convenience and exploring the other nearby ski resorts, hiring a car is advisable.
By car
If you are flying in to Salt Lake City International, getting to Ogden Valley by car is straightforward...
- On leaving the airport, follow the signs for I-15 North and continue passing through North Salt Lake until you see the exit 324 for US Highway 89 which takes you all the way to Ogden
- For Snowbasin, exit Highway 89 at Junction 324 and follow signs for I-84
- Once on the I-84, continue until you see the signs for Mt Green/Huntsvile on Highway 167 until you come to Snowbasin resort
