How to get to Vallorcine
Vallorcine is one of those easy-to-get-to resorts whether you are coming by plane, train or car.
By plane
The nearest international airport to Vallorcine is Sion in the Canton of Valais in Switzerland. The 53km journey takes you via the A9 motorway towards Martigny before climbing the pass and crossing the border into France. airport transfers typically take around 45 minutes.
However, not many carriers fly to Sion and so the more typical arrival airport is Geneva. Transfer times take approximately 1 hour 50 minutes to cover the 115kms.
By car
From within Switzerland, pick up the A9 motorway and head towards Martigny. Follow the signs for Chamonix which take you over the pass and bacj down into the valley below. Staying on the same road, you pass the turning for the Emmoson Dam before reaching the Châtelard-Frontière. Vallorcine is just a few kilometers further on.
Driving from France, you pick up the Autoroute Blacnche and follow the sign-posts to Chamonix. Once in Chamonix, follow the signs for Argentiere and pass through the village towards the Col de Montets. Continue down the hill for 4kms before arriving at Vallorcine.

By train
Vallorcine has a train station with trains running to Martigny in Switzerland or to Le Fayet at the bottom of the Chamonix Valley near Sallanches. Both Martigny and Le Fayet connect to the high speed trains linking to cities throughout Switzerland and France.
