Description

The former school building in Kelloselkä, Salla, has been converted into cozy holiday apartments. Renovated in 2024, this apartment is located just 16 km northeast of Salla and serves as an excellent base for hiking, snowmobiling, hunting, and other outdoor activities in Eastern Lapland.

The apartment features a spacious living room and a bright, roomy kitchen. One bedroom has a 160 cm wide double bed, and the other bedroom has two separate 80 cm wide beds. The living room contains a sofa bed, which is 140 cm wide when opened. The washroom includes a shower and WC. In shared use with another apartment: a sauna, washing facilities, washing machine in the basement, and a tepee in the yard.

The apartment provides great opportunities for winter activities; a cross-country ski trail starts directly from the yard, a snowmobile trail network runs just a stone's throw away, and Salla Ski Resort is less than a 30-minute drive (approx. 26 km). If you’re interested in water activities, the Aatsinkijoki River, perfect for canoe trips, flows just around 600 meters away.

Pets are welcome for a small additional fee.

This apartment is a perfect choice whether you're looking for a relaxing holiday, an adventure-filled getaway, or a family weekend trip! Guests can also use the sports field, playground, and, in wintertime, the ice skating rink in the yard, which are also available to local villagers. Surrounding the apartments are excellent grounds for berry and mushroom picking, as well as hunting and fishing opportunities (please ensure you have the required permits first).

A generous, standard amount of firewood for the sauna and tepee is included in the booking. Additional firewood can be ordered directly from the maintainer at an extra charge; the price in 2025 is 7 EUR per 40-litre sack, payable directly to the maintainer.

For larger groups, it is possible to also book the neighbouring apartment, Lomarengas destination 17473 KELLOSELKÄ B, or for an extra fee, a dormitory accommodating up to 4 people. If you book 1–4 sleeping places from the dormitory, please add the additional service "Extra bed" to your reservation (the price covers 1–4 sleeping places in the dormitory).
