The Petit Châtel comfort chalet, with outdoor whirlpool, wood-burning stove and free Wi-Fi, is a jewel among chalets in the top ski resort of Portes du Soleil, near Lake Geneva on the French-Swiss border. The traditional natural stone house from the 18th century has been converted into a very well-equipped, comfortable home to modern standards. The conversion was carried out with great attention to detail, while fully retaining the charm of the typical mountain chalet. The centrepiece is the spacious living/dining room with a very well-equipped, open-plan kitchen. Enjoy cosy chalet evenings in the sitting area by the fireplace. The chalet has four bedrooms - all beds are 2 metres long - as well as two bathrooms, one of which has a WC, and a further WC.

Great panoramic balcony location above the popular holiday resort of Châtel. The nearby 4-seater Barbossine express chairlift provides access to the 'Portes du Soleil' ski arena (~600 m). Ski and local bus stop ~300 m. Depending on snow conditions, you can ski down to the chalet and from the chalet to the lift (no official groomed or marked piste; at your own risk). The vibrant village centre of Châtel is ~2 km away. There you will find numerous shops and boutiques for shopping, typical Savoyard restaurants, trendy après-pubs, an ice rink on Lac des Vonnes, a new adventure pool (wellness area with sauna, solarium and fitness room), or the offer of horse-drawn carriage rides. Ski info Chalet Petit Châtel 650 km of ski pistes, 211 lifts and cable cars. Chalet altitude: 1,300 m. Swiss-French ski arena 'Les Portes du Soleil' ("Gates of the Sun") up to 2,400 metres. Magnificent, extensive ski area, situated between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, with attractive pistes in the mostly treeless alpine areas around Avoriaz, Les Lindarets and Les Crosets/Switzerland. The black piste 'Swiss Wall/Chavanette' is considered one of the greatest challenges for good skiers in the Alps. Wonderful freeride routes, e.g. to Grand Paradis (skiers/mountain guides recommended; at your own risk). Wide, family-friendly pleasure pistes around Super-Châtel and near the alpine village of Les Lindarets. From the nearest chairlift, Barbossine, you can set off on a circular ski tour, e.g. via Torgon, Morgins, Champoussin to Les Crosets and Champéry, returning via Avoriaz to Châtel-Linga. Direct ski bus between Linga and the Barbossine lift. Snowboarders appreciate the 'Smooth Park', boardercross or the FFS halfpipe. Designated snowshoe hiking trails or taster ice diving in Châtel.
