Ski guiding & touring

Champéry is located in the Vallée d’Illiez at an altitude of 1050m sitting between the Dents du Midi and the Dents Blanches. This means the area gets lots of snow making it ideal for freeriding and ski touring. Hire a local guide to get the best out of the ski touring opportunities from Champery and around the Portes du Soleil. Whilst not technically difficult, the sheer amount of skiing required to get around the whole circuit makes this ski tour suitable for intermediate and advanced skiers - that is, if you want to get back to your resort before the lifts close!

Champery is one of the best places from which to ski the Portes du Soleil ski area with masses of fast lifts and over 600km of well-treated pistes. It's easy to ski over to Les Gets, Avoriaz, Morzine, Chatel and Morgins and the pistes range from blue to reds meaning the ski tour is great for intermediate skiers or snowboarders.

If you are looking for more challenging ski tours, the best option is to book a day with a local mountain guide. These tours may involve using skins to take you into the untracked powder bowls.
