City breaks in Ljubljana Holiday Rentals, Villas & Apartments to Rent, Holiday Homes
Ljubljana is the largest city and capital of Slovenia. Whilst relatively small in size, it is packed with things to see and do around its bustling historic centre. The Prešernov Trg or square is where everyone meets and where you'll find many street entertainers especially during the summer months.
Crossing the Plecnik's Triple Bridge in to the old town, you will spot many wonderful riverside cafes to relax in before exploring the fascinating historic centre.
The old town is laced with narrow cobbled streets, shops and restaurants not to mention its famous Dragons Bridge - according to legend, this is where Jason and his argonauts slayed the dragon. Not to be missed is the Ljubljana Fresh Food Market which is a very lively place.

Accommodation in Ljubljana
There are plenty of options when choosing where to stay in Ljubljana from excellent 5 star hotels to private holiday rentals - villas on the ouskirts or apartments to rent in the city centre.
Getting around Ljubljana is best done on foot. Most of the historical centre is pedestrianised and finding a parking space other than at where you are staying is like finding a needle in a haystack.
Twin centre holidays
If you are taking a city break in Ljubljana, a popular option is to combine your stay with a few days relaxing by the shores of either Lake Bled or Lake Bohinj - two of the most beautiful lakes in Europe.
Alternatively, during the winter months, skiing is a firm favourite. The closest resort is Krvavec just 20 minutes away whilst the larger resort of Kranjska Gora is just 66kms drive.
