How to get to Saas-Fee
By plane
The nearest airport is Sion with transfer times of around 90 minutes although the resort can be easily reached from Geneva, via Sion but is 227km away. Alternative airport transfers from Milan, Zurich and Basel to Saas Fee are within 3 hours.
By train
Catch a train to Visp then take the local bus up to the resort.

By car
Driving to Saas Fee is easy no matter which direction you are coming from.
- From the north - drive via Bern through the Lötschberg (car-train) tunnel
- From the east - drive via the Furka pass or take the Furka car-train but bear in mind that the Furka pass is closed in winter
- From the south - drive via the Simplon pass (or take the Simplon car-train)
- From the west - drive via Lausanne, along the Rhone Valley to Visp
Parking
Once you arrive in Saas Fee, there are different rules for parking your car depending upon which village you stay in:
Saas Fee
Being a traffic free resort, you are required to leave your car in the covered / uncovered 2900 space multi-storey car-park at the entrance to the resort.
Saas-Almagell
You can either park next to your accommodation or in one of the many public car parks.
Saas-Grund/Saas-Balen
Parking here is no problem as the hotels and public car parks have plenty of space.
