The area around Ötztal valley is rich in culture and one of the must do trips is to ride the Gaislachkogl lift. It is the largest double cable gondola in the world and whisks you up from 1370m to 3041m. At the top is a restaurant and sun terrace with a breathtaking views of the mountains and glaciers in the Ötztaler and Stubaier Alps, right down to the South Tyrolean Dolomites and Ortler area.

Things to see & do around Sölden

Sölden summer holidays consist of long sunny days that can get surprisingly hot with temperatures often north of 30 degrees. This means you have a Mediterranean climate but also surrounded by mountains, glaciers and lakes with so much to see and do. There are beautiful walks through forests, along rivers, lakes and glaciers and there are more than 300km of marked paths for you to discover in this fascinating part of the Austrian Alps. The 400km Ötztal Trek has 22 stages starting at Ötztal-Bahnhof. You can make it as easy or as difficult as you want it to be and join / leave each stage when and where you want.
